Cabinet of Curiosities
As a lifetime passionate traveler and interior designer, Eugene Yeh’s fascination for antiques and vintage goods has brought him to off-the-beaten-track collector’s studios, flea markets, and antique depots in far-flung corners of Asia, Europe, and South America. With every trip, objets d’art and interesting artifacts are added to a collection that never stops growing, reflecting a life of travel, adventure, and curiosity.
At his second home in Bangkok, the Taipei native has decided to open his private residence on the top floor of the tucked-away Cabochon Hotel for travelers who share his passion for curios and antiques. The Cabinet of Curiosities is an extension of the style you’ll find throughout The Cabochon Hotel, but offers a deeper insight into Eugene’s personal style and passions, as well as the comforts of a home-away-from-home, working room, and a wide array of amenities.
For dreamers and doers, writers and creators, the Cabinet of Curiosities offers a beacon of inspiration in the heart of bustling Bangkok. From its living room with antique leather couch, travel trunks for coffee tables, and cabinets chock full of old-time collectibles, to the art-de-vivre working room, where Eugene spent most of his time creating exquisite designs for interiors around the globe. French doors open to a large garden-clad balcony, perfect for a morning coffee or a sip of tea in the late afternoon. Come nightfall, there a few better places to reflect on the day than in the bathroom’s classic copper bathtub with a glass of good wine, before you slip into a restful sleep on soft cotton sheets.
Old taxidermy objects are parts of this residence features which might be obscene for some individuals.
